Dreams come true for new recruits to the NHS

Published on: 29th April 2022

A successful recruitment event was held at Lord’s Cricket Ground on 28 April 2022.

The London NHS and Indeed Healthcare Support Worker Recruitment Event was organised for those wanting to come into frontline healthcare for the first time, or those wanting to return after working in other sectors.

The idea behind the occasion was to help the NHS in its effects to reduce staff vacancies.

Candidates were recruited on the day and many felt a sense of pride and excitement in joining our NHS.

Olasubomi Awosile, said, “Today is one of the happiest days. My mother worked in the NHS and I’ve always dreamed of working in the NHS since I was five. This is a dream come true!”

Kayva said: “The experience today has been really lovely. Everyone had a big smile and made me feel so comfortable. I’m really glad that I came here and got a job! I’ve worked in research before and I’m keen to be working with patients instead of behind the scenes. My sister and brother-in-law work in the NHS and I’ve heard amazing stories.”

The event was part of a national scheme of events, with others taking parts in cities such as Manchester and Southampton.
