Hospice UK’s Dying Matters Awareness Week is taking place until 6 May 2022.

The aim of the campaign is to get people talking about dying and grief.

It is also an opportunity to reflect on end of life care, something which is important for individuals and families affected by someone who is receiving palliative care. We want everyone to be #InAGoodPlace when they die – whatever that means for them.

You can find advice about how you can start a conversation with your friends and family about death and dying.

Hospices, hospitals, community groups and individuals are advising and facilitating others to join with a national conversation and debate about dying. Find out about what you can do to join in.

There are local events taking place, which include:

  • A coffee morning at St Lukes Hospice on Saturday 7 May 2022. There are a number of  number of talks and activities. Those wishing to attend should register by emailling Angela.
  • Royal Trinity Hospice are running an online event called ‘Matters of life and death: how making sure you are in a good place to die will help you get on with living' on Thursday 5 May 2022, 7-8pm. See more information and register.
