Coronavirus (COVID-19) update from North West London NHS - 31 July 2020

Published on: 3rd August 2020

North West London NHS Coronavirus response

The school holidays are in full swing and the reopening of park playgrounds is a much-welcomed sight. But please remember to enjoy summer sensibly and continue to follow the national guidance on social distancing, hand washing for at least 20 seconds and wearing a face covering in public places. If you experience a high temperature, a new, continuous cough or changes in your sense of smell or taste, you must book a COVID-19 test immediately.

We want to remind everyone that the NHS is here for you: please seek help if you need it. If you need medical advice, call your GP or dial 111 in the first instance. In a medical emergency, call 999. More information on our services and how they are operating can be found here.

The BBC has been reporting on studies that examine virus links with ethnicity. In this issue we take a closer look at our Community Voices programme and its findings on the impact of COVID-19 on Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) public, patients and staff.

We’re also bringing an early reminder of the importance of getting your Flu vaccination to help you stay well this winter and list those groups in particular who should make this a priority and will receive the vaccination for free.

The NHS is open for business and in this issue we are urging those with cancer symptoms and those requiring cervical screening to book and keep their appointments.
