NW London service restarts published on website

ACTION: Review the service changes website page regularly to see the latest service restarts

On Tuesday, you will have received our weekly digest, which included a full list of the services restarting this week.

As always, we advise you to look at the service changes page on the website on a regular basis, to keep track of the latest updates in real time. We are publishing NW London service restarts here too, so you can review it yourself as needed.

Message for your patients: Urgent pathways such as 2WW or Rapid Access are still in place

ACTION: Ensure your patients are reassured that urgent pathways such as 2WW or Rapid Access are still in place

When patients are routinely referred, we encourage you to make sure they know that while they will be added to a waiting list rather than booked whilst the backlog is dealt with, urgent pathways such as the 2WW and rapid access pathways are all still in place.

Cervical screenings resumed since 7 June

ACTION: For any queries contact hub@iplato.com

As you will be aware, cervical screening invitations were resumed across England on 7 June. Text reminders have also restarted to all patients registered with participating practices from 20 July 2020 by iPLATO Healthcare on behalf of NHSEI.

We anticipate that this will result an increase in the number of women contacting practices to book appointments across London.

The text sent to patients was as follows:

"[Practice Name]: Your cervical screening test is due. Please call [Practice Number] to book. Info at https://nhs.uk/cervscreen. Privacy notice: https://www.england.nhs.uk/privacy-public-health. Please ensure you attend the practice with a face covering. For more info please visit https://mygp.me/2Nbzx1w. Social distancing measures have been put in place to protect you and staff. Contact your GP to opt out of SMS."

iPLATO Healthcare may require some practices to send across an up-to-date phonebook or opt-out list; further instructions on how to do this have already been sent via email.

Transfer of dsDNA and ENA to BioPlex platform from Monday 27 July 2020

ACTION: Read full letter from North West London Pathology

Further to our communication on Thursday 2 July 2020 we wish to notify you that the dsDNA and ENA tests will go live on the BioPlex format on Monday 27 July 2020.

As required by UKAS the laboratory accreditation service we are now assessed for accreditation by individual tests rather than being accredited for the overall service. Due to this change in analytical platform, dsDNA and ENA tests are not currently UKAS accredited, and are awaiting re-assessment for the change in methodology.

Please contact the laboratory for further information if required on the accreditation status of this or any other test.

Further information on UKAS accreditation is available on http://www.ukas.com/.
