Practice Situation Reporting

ACTION: Note below arrangements going forward for continuation and updating the Directory of Services (DOS)

On the 21 April NHSE published an update to the operating procedure for general practice in the context of Covid-19, asking practices to report to their commissioner or to the Directory of Service (DOS) lead by 10am every morning an update on the capacity available in their practice. Should the practice have to close because of staff shortages the DOS would inform 111 and Integrated Urgent Services.  For some weeks now you have been making a staffing return to the primary care team on a daily basis (SITREP) and this has been very valuable in providing primary care leads the information they need to support practices that have been struggling due to staff shortages.

In NW London we propose that this process continues and that by 10am every day you return the NW London SITREP with any staff changes. This means you will not have to change what you are already doing and you will not have to report your staffing situation twice.

The link remains the same as you have already been using https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WFX3WP8 and we request that you continue to complete this on a daily basis, the questions have been updated and it should take you no longer than about 4 minutes to complete the information required.

We will assume you are green unless told otherwise and we will inform the DOS leads accordingly that you are open and able to take direct bookings from 111.  It is therefore very important that you make the SITREP return daily.

If you have any queries please contact the primary care team nwlccg.lon-nw-pcc@nhs.net
