National flu immunisation programme 2020/21

ACTION: Read the full letter from NHSEI attached

In light of Covid-19, it is more important than ever that effective plans are in place for the 2020/21 flu season to protect those at risk, prevent ill-health and minimise further impact on the NHS and social care. We have published a letter setting out which groups are eligible for the flu vaccination programme this autumn and the actions that commissioners and providers of the flu vaccine programme should take to prepare. We recognise that delivering the flu immunisation programme is likely to be more challenging because of the impact of Covid-19. Further guidance will be issued about how to manage the immunisation programme to reflect circumstances nearer the planned start of the programme in September 2020.

Andrology diagnostic service to resume at Hammersmith Hospital

ACTION: Refer to service as below, using the form attached

The North West London Pathology team is very pleased to inform you that our andrology diagnostic service at Hammersmith Hospital will be resuming on 18 May 2020.

In line with government advice we have introduced changes to our referrals process in order to ensure that social distancing within our department is adhered to and that our premises will be safe for both our patients and staff. In order to facilitate this, an appointment has had to be implemented to limit the number of persons in our department at any given time.

How to refer your patient to our andrology department at Hammersmith Hospital
  • Complete your referral (see revised referral form) making sure the patient’s mobile number is on the form.
  • Email the referral form to imperial.andrology.queries@nhs.net
  • On receipt of the referral form a member of our reception team will contact the patient via telephone to arrange an appointment date and time when they may visit the department.
Request forms
  • GP practices to contact patients provided with andrology forms pre-25 March 2020 (before andrology clinic closures) and inform them of the changes to the andrology services.
  • Once patient contacted, email the referral request form or full patient details, contact number and email address to imperial.andrology.queries@nhs.net.
  • The andrology team will contact the patient and arrange an appointment date and time when they may visit the department.
